Jets Unveil New Brand
After a relatively short wait (considering the team left 15 years ago) the new Winnipeg Jets unveiled their new brand identity to the world today.
My intial impression? I like it. Not a huge fan of the wordmark, but that if that is my biggest quarrel than they have done well.
The primary logo is a simple classic shootout to the RCAF. I also like that incorporates the Manitoba love for curling. Seriously look at it and tell me you don’t see it. I’ll wait…
Next up will be how these logos are used in the design of the new Winnipeg Jets jersey. No date has been set for the unveiling of the jersey, but TNSE has stated that when their rookies take the ice for the September rookie tournament they will wear the new uniforms.
There have been lots of mock-up of uniforms done by fans, which is kind of fun, but I will anxiously wait they jersey. I wonder if the St. John’s affiliate will take the name (doubt it) or the colours.
