2010 NHL Playoffs: Nucks v. Kings
Vancouver Canucks (3) vs. Los Angeles Kings (6)
This has been a big year for both teams.
LA has taken a major step forward as an organization. With a young talented team, I think many figured the Kings would show some signs of becoming a great team, but that they would be on the bubble come playoff team.
On the contrary, they have been a solid pick for the playoffs all year. Led by the astoundingly quick maturing Drew Doughty on the back end, the team has seemed to mirror his development in that they are ahead of the curve. This marks the Kings first playoff appearance since 2002.
The Kings will be facing a Vancouver team that appears to be rounding into the form they hope to maintain for years to come. After securing their core of the Sedin twins, Roberto Luongo, and most recently Ryan Kesler, the Canucks will be look at this years playoffs to be the start of prolonged trips deep into springtime hockey. Henrik is coming of an amazing Art Ross winning season. The twins have showed that they are special players with supernatural abilities to find one another.
If I had to bet: Vancouver in 6. This will be a good series with lots of exciting play. There is a lot of dynamic offensive talent in this series and it will be fun to watch.
