Young Pitchers the Target of Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays used the 11th overall pick in the MLB draft to select Deck McGuire of Georgia Tech.

McGuire has a good chance to become a solid 3-4 pitcher in a major league rotation. He’s got a good make-up and has shown the ability to battle even when not on top of his game. He should move through the system quickly and be a solid inning eater for the Jays in the future.

The Jays then used their three picks in the compensatory sandwich round to select a trio of young pitchers.

#34 RHP Aaron Sanchez
6’4″ 190 lbs, Barstow High School

#38 Noah Syndergaard
6’5″ 200 lbs, Legacy High School

#41 Asher Wojciechowski
6’4″ 235 lbs, The Citadel

Do you see the pattern? They are all 6’4″+ and close to 200 lbs. Big pitchers with powerful arms, hopefully that will make a difference for the Jays.
