James and Wade Headed to Harlem?

Submitted for your approval, two basketball superstars with their futures in front of them. They have the opportunity to significantly alter the North American basketball landscape. Could they leave the NBA entirely? Only here…

As reported by Mary Schmitt Boyer of the Cleveland Plain Dealer:

Wacky as it sounds, the Harlem Globetrotters are interested in signing James and Dwyane Wade, reaching out to representatives for both players on Tuesday. They’re preparing to offer part ownership to both players as well as 51 percent of revenue from licensed merchandise sales bearing their name or likeness (neither matchable under terms of the NBA’s collective bargaining agreement.) They have no other salary cap restrictions, either.

The potential move comes as a surprise to many as the Globetrotters have won over 23,000 games while dropping just 345 games over the course of eight-plus decades. They own the best winning percentage (.985) in the history of professional sports.

It just never gets any easier for those poor Washington Generals, does it?
