Langille Wins NSSBL Player of the Week
The former Milwaukee Brewers’ 7th round pick in 2004 won both his starts this past week. The Dry moved to 12-1 record on the season and ran their undefeated streak to 12 straight.
Langille won his start last Tuesday against the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians throwing 5 innings and giving up just one run on six hits. On Saturday he allowed just four hits over seven innings in a 14-1 rout of the Sydney Sooners. With the two victories, Langille holds a league best 5-0 record.
Due to injuries, Langille was not only asked to contribute on the mound, but also at the plate during the double header against the Sooners. Taking advantage of a rare opportunity to contribute offensively, he went 2 for 2 and drove in the game-winning run in the eleventh inning of the Dry’s 8-6 victory in the first game.
Also considered for the honour were pitcher Kevin Nichols of the Kentville Wildcats, the Dry’s 17 year old hurler, Anthony McKinley, the Dry’s Colin Johnson, and the Sooners’ Jason Snow.
