Mark Pelham Wins NSSBL Player of the Week

Cleve's Source for Sports logoMark Pelham of the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians has been chosen this week’s Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League. One of the co-coaches of the Canadians, Pelham had an outstanding week in helping his team win games over the Truro Bearcats and their league leading rivals, the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry.

Pelham had seven hits in 11 at bats for an average of .636, including adding two more doubles to his league leading total. All that was enroute to three RBIs.

The Pelham Molson Canadians had been struggling a bit offensively of late. Both the team and Pelham seemed to benefit from a change in the lineup which saw Scott Willgress move out of the lead off spot in favour of Ryan Veinot, and Pelham move into the to hole.

Others considered for the award were Ryan Veinot of the Canadians, Guy Pellerine of Truro, Justin Brewer of the Sydney Sooners, Kevin Nichols of the Kentville Wildcats, and Chris Head of the Dry.
