Colin Johnson is the NSSBL Player of the Week

Cleve's Source for Sports logoColin Johnson of the Dartmouth Moosehead Dry had an offensive week to remember in the Nova Scotia Senior Baseball League and has earned the Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week Award for his power display.

Johnson went seven for 17, an impressive .412 clip, but his slugging percentage of 1.058 was even more impressive. Johnson had two homeruns, a two-run dinger and a towering three-run blast. Sprinkle in a triple, three doubles, a single to and three sacrifice flies and you have a pretty good week.

Johnson drove in an incredible 15 runs, with seven in one game and five in another against the Sydney Sooners. He more than doubled his season’s RBI production from 13 to 28, taking over the league lead in that department.

Other players who had outstanding performances during the week were Halifax’s Mark Haverstock and Steve Ivey, the Sooners’ Paul Doucette, Truro’s Joe MacPherson, Kentville’s Kevin Nichols, and Johnson’s teammates, Joel Irvine and Craig Langille
