Haverstock NSSBL Player of the Week

Cleve's Source for Sports logoVeteran right-hander Mark Haverstock has been chosen as the Cleve’s Source for Sports Player of the Week in the NSSBL.

Haverstock was the main reason for the Halifax Pelham Molson Canadians picking up two victories in their 3-game series with the Sydney Sooners this past weekend in Sydney. He threw a complete game, 5-hit shutout on Friday evening and then quieted the Sooners’ bats after an eight-run outburst in the seventh inning of the second game, pitching the last two innings. Halifax scored two runs in the nineth to claim a 15-14 win and give Haversotck two dubs in as many days.

With the two victories Haverstock joins Dartmouth Moosehead Dry’s Craig Langille atop the wins column in the league with seven.

Others considered for the award were the Sooners’ Cory Christie and Justin Brewer, the Canadians’ Mark Pelham, Kentville’s Kevin Matheson, and Truro’s Darson Murphy.
