Cuzner and Cote Added to Herd

Logo for the Halifax Moosehead of the Quebec Major Hockey LeagueHalifax Mooseheads GM Cam Russell announced Wednesday that the Club has selected Brad Cuzner and Alexandre Cote in the QMJHL Waiver Draft.

Cuzner, a 19 year old native of Glace Bay, was put on waivers earlier this week by the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles as the team looks to build around a youthful core. The 5’8” 157lbs forward recorded 13 goals, 24 assists and 131 penalty minutes in 110 games with Cape Breton.

Cuzner is the epitome of a Hockey pest; the type of player you hate to play against, but love on your team. Think Claude Lemieux or Ken Linsman. Cuzner also has some offensive ability which won’t hurt either.

In Cote the Mooseheads pick-up the Quebec Junior AAA scoring champion from the Acadie-Bathurst Titan. The 6’0″ 200lbs forward collected 37 goals, 62 assists and was a +42 in 48 games while playing for the Joliette Traffic under Mooseheads assistant coach Steve Hartley.

The Mooseheads will face the Acadie-Bathrust Titan their third preseason match-up Friday night at the Forum.
