The actual game of football has become less and less relevant when discussing the Super Bowl. It has become a marketing and entertainment big thingjuggernaut. The game is almost just an excuse for the window dressing.
The commercials have become the real entertainment. The most notable brands in the world dish out millions of dollars every year to produce ads that go beyond the normal every day 30 second spot. Here in Canada we are not always privy to these delightful romps, so we must suffer through our local networks.

Just weeks after learning that Jose Bautista has supplied more urine samples than Lindsay Lohan over the past three years, the Blue Jays slugger has garnered yet another honour. It was announced that Bautista will be the Canadian cover athlete for MLB 12: The Show. Well deserved, but too bad they couldn’t put him on the US cover too. Apparently that honour will go (not undeservedly) to the extremely marketable Boston Redsox firstbasemen Adrian Gonzalez.
I wish my morning bus would be a quicker option than running 26 miles. Often it doesn’t feel that way.
I suggest we campaign to have a public transportation triathalon made an olympic sport. The first leg will be a ferry ride, followed by a taxi stage. The final leg will require that you take a bus (or possibly subway, if your city has one), but must make two transfers.
